ADVENT

DECEMBER 13 - JANUARY 19 // 2013-2014

ISAIAH 40:3

“Come, thou long expected Jesus, born to set thy people free; from our fears and sins release us, let us find our rest in thee.” – Charles Wesley

The words of this familiar Christmas hymn are echoed with our scripture for this upcoming gallery exhibit. Through long preparation and eager anticipation, the people of God waited for their Messiah. Little did they know He would come in the form of a babe wrapped in swaddling clothing and placed in a lowly manger. Yet again, God finds a way to shatter the worldly expectations of man in order to display His glory through humility. This exhibit is wide open to interpretation in regards to the Advent Season. We want to experience this anticipation and ultimately satisfaction found in Christ through your artwork. Give us a peek into your own personal life and feelings towards Christmas. Don’t settle to paint or draw something lackluster, but instead be inspired by the truth of the hymn above, the Messiah has come to free us from our fears and sins! Rejoice!
