EMILY COCKERILL LIGHTNER
Emily Lightner is a graduate from Jacksonville State University with a degree in management and human resources.
She began her art career at the tender age of three, painting and selling her abstracts at art shows that her parents attended. She won her first ribbon at the age of five. While attending Lithia Springs High School she took a photography course that changed her direction in the art world to using the camera as her paint brush. Her love of computers was married with the camera in the digitally marbelized images she produces now. Perhaps it was the near death experience with encephalitis and the resulting seizures, Emily sees the world a little differently. It is this unique view that has brought her an award in a national competition the World of Art. Her work has been collected by corporate collectors such as Echo Media and FreeWheelin Honda. Emily and her husband Andrew are now expecting their first child at the end of the year.
