JOY
JUNE 28 - AUGUST 4
John 15:11
Happiness can be found in many different ways, but it must be distinguished from joy. Happiness is meant to be temporary; it is here and then it’s gone. Joy is something lasting. Something deep. Something that continues even though happiness wanes. Joy is a condition of the heart, while happiness is a condition of our circumstance.
The overarching theme for joy is found with the statement “it is well with my soul” Though there is difficulty or hurt or pain, there can still be joy. Our artists have displayed a beautiful exhibit of people, places, or things that bring them joy or represent the lasting joy described here. A perfect summer reminder where our days are often filled with happiness, that we might also be seeking true joy.
