THE UNEXPECTED

JANUARY 18 - MARCH 10 // 2013

JAMES 1:2

While on a search for his father’s missing donkeys, King Saul decides to consult the prophet Samuel concerning their whereabouts. God reveals to Samuel that Saul is to be the king. they then have a huge feast where God’s intentions are described to Saul. What’s most interesting about this incident is that, while God could have brought Samuel and Saul together through any process He wished, He revealed Saul’s purpose of kingship through a classic interruption of life. These interruptions aren’t always as pleasant, but nevertheless God is always at work. This exhibit focuses on depicting many types of unexpected encounters, experiences, and moments. Whether an immense trial or an unexpected blessing, these hiccups in life shape our stories.
